  1. My cam of choice has been the Mobius Actioncam because of it’s size and that you can replace the battery with capacitor. I didn’t want one with a screen because I wouldn’t use it anyway and it makes for a larger footprint. My camera hides behind the rearview mirror so it’s really not noticeable (which is nice if I leave my car at a shop or something, they don’t notice it). It also doesn’t chime because that was annoying on my first dashcam. For the capacitor, if you leave the camera in the car all the time like I do the sun kills the battery like it did with my first camera in less than a year. My camera shuts off with the car so it just needs enough juice to finish the last clip and that’s what the capacitor does and it’s not susceptible to dying from the heat like a battery. It doesn’t have all the fancy dashcam features but I didn’t use the ones my old camera did have. The G sensor is mostly pointless. If it’s too sensitive it picks up hard bumps in the road and saves those clips for no reason. And if you’re in an accident you’ll probably turn off the car soon after if it didn’t shut off on it’s own so the accident will be one of the last clips on the card or easy enough to find later if you are able to continue driving and pull the footage that day.

You missed out on the cruise. Not sure when you made it back from California but I’m guessing it was pretty recent so I don’t blame you for not going. But we hit some amazing roads. Once I get my camera footage edited I’ll upload some videos from it. Here’s a clip someone else shot of the cars driving by today.

  2. I would like to have one for my cabrio, but I don’t want that thing hanging in my face looking like shit. I also don’t want to have to put up the top or lock the dam thing up every time I leave the car. Ugh.
